Machining Glass is a precision glass and quartz fabrication shop serving photonics, semiconductor, biomedical and instrumentation customers worldwide. We turn drawings into finished parts — wafers, microfluidic chips, optical filters and windows, conductive glass, beam splitters, cover glass and fully custom geometries — with every process kept in-house so tolerances, surface quality and documentation stay under one roof.
What we do
Our work spans fused silica (JGS1/JGS2), synthetic quartz, borosilicate (Borofloat 33), alkali-free display glass and specialty substrates such as sapphire. Core processes include femtosecond laser ablation, CNC ultrasonic machining, precision dicing, thermal and anodic bonding, optical polishing and thin-film coating (AR, ITO and FTO). Whether you need a single prototype or a production run, the same engineering team reviews feasibility and sees the part through inspection.
Why customers work with us
Precision-glass buyers rarely need an exact catalog item — they need a part that is close to a standard line but tuned to their design. We are built for that: send a STEP, DXF or PDF drawing and we quote geometry, material and finish directly, with a design-for-manufacturing (DFM) review that flags anything that would compromise yield before it reaches the shop floor.
Quality & documentation
Components are inspected with interferometry and CMM metrology, and we provide material traceability and compliance documentation for aerospace, medical and semiconductor orders. Flatness, parallelism, scratch-dig, sheet resistance and spectral performance are all verified against the numbers on your print.
Industries we serve
Biomedical diagnostics and lab-on-chip, semiconductor and optoelectronics, microfluidics, optics and photonics, laser systems, display and sensor packaging, and research instrumentation. If your device depends on a piece of glass behaving exactly to specification, we can make it.
