FTO Coating Soda-Lime Glass – Soda-Lime Glass (CTE 9.0 x 10^-6 /K, 360 nm – 2.0 um); 7 – 15 ohm/sq, stable to 600 C. No minimum order; DFM review included with every RFQ.

The point of fto coating soda-lime glass is simple: heat-tolerant conductive layer for cells and heaters. We deposit it by spray pyrolysis on float line onto Soda-Lime Glass and verify 7 – 15 ohm/sq, stable to 600 C on every lot.

Design guidance

Three items decide most of the cost and lead time on this work:

  • Material note: higher CTE means edge chips propagate under thermal load, so edge finishing quality drives reliability.
  • Sequence matters: all machining happens before fto coating; post-coating rework is not economical.
  • Over-specification is the quiet budget killer: a 20/10 scratch-dig face costs roughly three times an 80/50 face, so grade each surface individually.

The full rules live in our tolerance design guide and holes and edges design guide.

What the process holds

Beyond this page, Soda-Lime Glass routinely runs through cnc machining, laser cutting, dicing, drilling in our shop – most real parts combine two or three of these steps.

Typical applications

Orders for fto coating soda-lime glass cluster in led packaging (groove covers, phosphor carriers, package windows); industrial displays (touch covers, gauge windows, printed bezels). Background reading on the underlying material science: ASTM C1036 flat glass standard.

Common questions

Is there a minimum order for fto coating soda-lime glass?

No. Single prototypes are accepted, and pricing steps down at 10, 100 and 1,000 pieces.

How fast can prototypes ship?

Machined prototypes ship in 5 – 10 working days. Coated or bonded parts add 1 – 2 weeks depending on queue slots.

What files do you need for a quote?

A dimensioned PDF plus DXF or STEP geometry. If only a sketch exists, our drawing review service formalizes it before quoting.

Do parts ship with inspection data?

Dimensional reports, surface certificates and material certs per melt are available; specify the level on the RFQ.

What tolerances are achievable on Soda-Lime Glass parts?

Ground features hold +/-0.01 mm and lapped thickness reaches +/-0.003 mm. Higher CTE means edge chips propagate under thermal load, so edge finishing quality drives reliability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What ITO/FTO sheet resistances are available?

Standard steps are 5-7, 7-10, 10-15, 15-20, 30-60 and 100 ohm/sq, with custom values on request. Lower sheet resistance generally means a thicker conductive film and slightly lower transmittance.

What glass thickness and transmittance can I expect?

Standard substrate thicknesses include 0.4, 0.55, 0.7, 1.1 and 2.0 mm. Transmittance at 550 nm is typically at or above 85%, and you can specify an 80/85/90% minimum in the builder.

Can you etch a custom electrode pattern?

Yes. Patterns can be laser- or wet-etched to a customer drawing, with edge deletion and typical pattern resolution around ±50 µm.
