Precision Glass for Optical Sensors

Precision Glass for Optical Sensors: to-drawing tolerances with inspection reports. No MOQ, prototypes in 5-10 days, DFM review with every RFQ.

Industry Application July 29, 2026

Precision Glass for Optical Sensors – custom precision glass machined to drawing with inspection reports. No minimum order; DFM review included with every RFQ.

precision glass for optical sensors programs need filtered, AR-coated apertures matched to detector bands. Typical parts: sensor windows, filter caps, lens covers.

Specification envelope

RFQ inputs PDF/DXF/STEP drawing, quantity brackets, surface and edge spec

Specification advice

The shop-floor rules that matter here:

  • Over-specification is the quiet budget killer: a 20/10 scratch-dig face costs roughly three times an 80/50 face, so grade each surface individually.

For the complete framework, see the tolerance design guide and the holes and edges design guide.

Where these parts end up

precision glass for optical sensors shows up across semiconductor equipment (view ports, wafer carriers, plasma rings, chamber windows); optical sensors (sensor windows, filter caps, lens covers); ccd inspection equipment (CCD cover plates, reference grids, stage glass).

The fastest route to a quote is geometry: use the 3D builder below, draw a dimensioned 2D drawing from it, or open the site-wide custom glass machining 3D + 2D builder for fully custom parts.

Common questions

How fast can prototypes ship?

Machined prototypes ship in 5 – 10 working days. Coated or bonded parts add 1 – 2 weeks depending on queue slots.

What files do you need for a quote?

A dimensioned PDF plus DXF or STEP geometry. If only a sketch exists, our drawing review service formalizes it before quoting.

Do parts ship with inspection data?

Dimensional reports, surface certificates and material certs per melt are available; specify the level on the RFQ.

What do optical sensors programs usually order?

Sensor windows, filter caps, lens covers. Typical spec: band edges within +/-2 nm, outline +/-0.05 mm.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Which filter types can I configure?

Longpass, shortpass, bandpass, notch, dichroic, neutral density and color filters. You set the relevant cut-on/cut-off or center wavelength, bandwidth and blocking, plus substrate and size.

How is a bandpass filter specified?

By center wavelength (CWL), full width at half maximum (FWHM), peak transmission and out-of-band blocking (e.g. OD4-OD6). The builder captures these as the spectral requirements for the quote.
